Outside the window

These hydrangeas are a species hydrangea and a little bit different from the usual.  They are a couple of metres tall, for starters, and just tall enough for the flowers to be at the perfect height from our bedroom window.  

In the morning the light is behind them and the flowers are like small brown butterflies, especially in a breeze.  I love the way they are held above and out from the main umbrel flowerhead.

They're quite lovely.
