Schönbrunn Palace
Now this is a beautiful palace, but how on earth did they get from one side to another. The whole class went to Schönbrunn Palace together and we got headsets to listen to the tour. I really liked the way the tour was set up since you could go in order of the rooms and catch all the highlights and explanations using the audio guide. The main "star" of Vienna is Empress Sissi who is like a legend, figure of the city. You see her portrait plastered everywhere for souvenirs. She was so famous because she was young and beautiful and was assassinated by being stabbed to death. It's a pretty dramatic story, but during the tour we learned that she actually wasn't that great in real life and was weirdly obsessed with body image and probably lived an unhappy life. While she was really interesting, she's not really the role model she's made out to be. The palace was huge and our class voted on walking up the giant hill to catch this gorgeous view of the palace.
