beach cricket

Went to Arts Festival in Pittenweem (Fife) today. This is an annual festival where a large collection of artists display their work in galleries, or sometimes in houses which act as galleries in the town itself. The town is a small fishing village with a nice harbour and this makes for a great venue. The day was hot and sunny which always helps to make  for an excellent day out.
En route, we stopped for lunch at Ellie. also in Fife, and came upon the famous Ship Inn which is on the beach. The pub is famous amongst other things for being the only pub in the UK which has a cricket pitch on the beach and traditionally, a game of cricket is played against a combination of regular opposition from Scotland and touring teams from all over the world, depending on tides.
