Camomile and Barley... in the fading daylight. Near Quarryfield. A challenge getting two of those flower heads in focus when up close. Manual focus too!
Nearby, there were two Grasshopper Warblers singing away at each other. Seemingly trying to keep going for longer than the competitor. Have never seen one of these secretive little birds, but have heard them singing often enough. In the Spring you may hear them for a day or two, before they move on and try elsewhere, looking for a mate. If you're hearing them at this time of year, then they're very likely to be at their breeding territory, and singing to declare that... especially if those pesky neighbours are singing close by.
