loading up

The start of the 6th race.

I've never gone to watch the start before in all the times I've been to horse racing. For that race it was quite close to the finish line because of the length. One circuit plus a bit.

My horse came 3rd, but I'd backed it to win. Oh well. I had one winner and that brought in £22.50. So, the bookmakers made a profit out of me (6 bets of £5 each).

Sunshine and warm all day - beautiful. I hadn't planned on going to the racing - a spur of the moment decision when I saw the weather and remembered how often I've wanted to go this summer but the weather was too cool or wet.

Horse racing is wonderful for people watchers like me - you'll see it all. Keeps me busy between races.
