Evening sun on Chatton Moor
Madly busy evening!
Grahame and Fran, friends from Wakefield, had come to stay the night at the end of their holiday. We started off with a short walk from Humbleton Village - just far enough up the track for a good view of the Cheviot. Then back to the flat for a meal (that MrM had started preparing earlier) before heading off again, this time to Chatton Moor in an attempt to find the rock art that MrM and I found last year. Eventually we found a slab of rock with cup and ring marks very similar to those we'd seen before, but neither of us was absolutely certain that it was one and the same. It was in roughly the right area, but we both remember the markings as being more pronounced and more of them. Maybe the light was different last time...
Then up to the Common to watch the barn owls (again!) and, to finish off the evening, an hour or so in the Black Bull.
And so to bed...
