A perfect summer morning!
What a gorgeous start to the day. We planned a longer walk than usual up on Bingley Moor which continues over to the famous Ilkley Moor.
I have to confess that there was a little chill in the air and some heavy dew when we left home and even a little mist hanging in the Aire Valley, hinting at the season that we are not going to think about, but the rest of the morning was pure summer.
This stretch of moor showing the heather growing in colour is above Otley Road, seen down at the white building. In the distance are the hills closer to home and to the left parts of West Bradford.
Every now and then there would be an alarming squawk as a Grouse flew out of the undergrowth. Can't help think that if they learned to keep quiet and just sit there they would be less likely to be shot! This is a Grouse shooting moor and that infamous date is getting nearer!
Why don't we have more of these wonderful mornings/days?
Grace and John arriving later this evening on their way back from Scotland, adventure over for this year!
Happy weekend everyone.
