I went to the library this morning. It was sunny when I went in, and teeming with rain when I came out and I got soaked. Just like April showers!

Our library is situated in an old school building. This was built in 1856 and was designed by Butterfield. When a new school was built the County Council wanted to sell off the historic building for accommodation. The village kicked up a fuss because at that time our library was housed in a very small unattractive building and we thought the old school would be just the thing for a new library. We won a partial victory as the library moved into half the building. Now there seem to be almost as many computers in there as books!
