BONANZA!
Butterflies have been unusually rare this summer, and today there were three kinds all at once. This Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (a black-form female) was the largest and most exciting by far - a beautiful black when the wings are open. The Gorgone Checkerspot, a much smaller butterfly, is in Extras. (The Cabbage White didn't make the cut.)
