Fishing

Today's big adventure (for the boys - E took J for a long walk) was a fishing trip, booked with Lewis at hebridesfishntrips.co.uk. Originally planned for Monday and postponed due to inclement weather.

It was a great few hours out at sea. Got close up to mussel and salmon farms on the way through the loch and then out to sea for the fishing. Saw seals and porpoise while we fished. The boys caught their first ever fish - pollock for Adam and this mackerel for Matthew. Came home with enough fish for tonight and tomorrow. Lifted crab pots, fed skua and generally enjoyed chatting with Lewis.

And then on the way back we saw a white tailed sea eagle and 'donated' one of our mackerel to him/her. Watching it swoop down to take the fish was fantastic.

Both kids had a great time. I think they'd have been happy to stay out longer and catch more fish!

The photo is of Matthew being encouraged to kiss his first fish. He wasn't keen on the idea.
