Lindisfarne Castle - what a wonderful dining room

Again .. it was heaving ... but even so it was a fascinating return visit 15 years on. I remember so poorly our last visit, but I do remember this fabulous colouring and I just hope I will remember far better this amazing place, the fabulous Lutyens work (especially the wonderful door furniture and kitfhen settle/cupboard) and the lovely, weirdly separate Gertrude Jekyll walled garden. It was well protected from the wind! We enjoyed lunch at The Ship and a good wander around the Priory.
