Sgriob-Ruadh Farm
(First time in ages I've had to backblip - but the internet in our cottage is useless and by the time I gave up last night, too late to go anywhere else...)
We walked to this cheese-making farm for Zion's sake - he saw piglets; a calf sucked his hand, and he danced to the music they milked the cows to. The food in the café - a huge conservatory covered in grapevines - had a definite cheese theme: we had rarebit on their own sourdough, baked cheesecake, cheese scones, and macaroni cheese - all delicious.
But the really inspiring bit was the story of the farm - how they moved up here in the 70's and the locals advised them to get a large spade to bury their cows - but now it's a great success, and how their grown kids are all on the island, contributing to the economy in different ways.
