The Brickworks
Mr A was off today so we made plans to get 'stuff' done.
We were up relatively early as we had a guy coming round to quote for either a repair or replacement of the patio doors. As expected, it's a replacement job so we need to get a few more quotes before we decide to go ahead.
The doctors called me to cancel my appointment. I was due to see the practice nurse and luckily, she'd read my notes to see what I was booked in for; it wasn't something she could do, so rang and cancelled so I didn't have a wasted trip.
She was really nice, obviously more clued up than the locum I saw who has seemingly given me all the wrong information!
I'll have to wait 2 more weeks now until my GP is back from holiday.
For lunch, we went to the new place that has opened in town called The Brickworks. It's a Marston's pub and all main meals are 2 for 1 every day.
They have a pizza kitchen (you can order takeaway too) and a build your own burger menu, as well as the regular and specials menu.
It was packed! The food was good, especially for the price :-)
I've tried to find out where the name came from; the site was previously the old Ewbank factory, then there were a couple of garages. The site has been derelict for a good few years so it's good to have something there again. My only guess would be it relates to the former Accrington Nori brickworks, but that was a couple of miles up the road.
This fuelled us nicely for our afternoon job....jet washing the drive.
I love jet washing, but I've got a rival now in Mr A who also had a fab time blasting the paths. They look so much cleaner, it's amazing just how grubby they got in a year!
