Thornton Dale Show
5years 287days
We had a great day today. A few jobs at home first thing, then katie had book club today instead of Friday. She was thrilled to discover a couple of friends of hers in today's group.
After book club we headed off to look at her new bike and see about trading hers in. She was very brave when it came to saying goodbye to her truly very treasured first proper bike. And is now very excited at the prospect of the big girl's bike with GEARS! Mummy was pleased that the extra care we've taken of her bike paid off in a good trade in value. She will have her new bike in the next week or two.
When we had finished, we met up with Granny and Grandad in Thornton Dale. We fed the ducks, played pooh sticks, cartwheeled in the sun (not grandad!) and paddled in the stream (even grandad). We had afternoon tea and then headed in for the late afternoon sessions of Thornton Dale show. Katie had a great time. She loved the motor bike displays, both the Royal Signal White Helmets seen here and a motocross display team. She petted a pack (? group? herd !?) of hunt's hounds. She watched the junior show jumping and we both joined in with the children's tug of war- 7 times. The girls came out victorious overall, though they had 4 women joining in too! She had a turn on the inflatable slide, enjoyed the craft show entries, particularly a monkey themed cake.
A great afternoon!
