Good Enough To Eat
Having started to get our garden under control, even though there is a fair bit to be done yet, it is easier to move about in it and to get to our fruit trees. Today’s blip is of a Conference pear, not quite ripe enough yet, but well on its way, which is on a young pear tree, which is still in its cage to protect it from our marauding deer. Our old and well established tree also has pears on it, most of which are out of reach of the deer, so that only those on the lower branches get consumed. However, our young pear tree, which is now about three-years old, so that this is really its first proper crop, which if the deer could get to them, would promptly be consumed together with much of the tree. At this age there are only a very few pears, but they really do look perfect!
