Merilden at sunset

Old railway stations in the countryside are especially evocative of earlier times. It is not hard to imagine trains coming and going, people waiting, kids running around, happy reunions and sad farewells. The ruins of the old Merilden station is one of my favourite local places. Every time I visit it, it seems a little more decayed. Here, it is facing to the setting sun at the end of another day. Nothing lasts forever.
