Matakitaki

Just for a change we got away from work early today - in broad daylight. BUT... decided on a drive up the Matakitaki West Bank to take some photos. Unfortunately by the time we got there the sun was behind the hills and it was freezing cold and the light had gone.

There was still some good frost around, but it was too cold to get close enough with my macro (I wasn't prepared to lie on the wet cold ground) so none of my photos were particularly pleasing. On the way back down the river we stopped at this spot. The light had completely gone from the water but as you can see was still reaching the hills to the east.

Not a bad contrast anyway, icy water and warm hills.
