Turtle Neck

How do you photograph a turtle? I thought this shot had potential, but I didn't quite pull it off. Would have liked a bigger depth of field.

Anyway, I found this turtle in the garden, possibly looking for a place to lay its eggs (the lawn would not be a good place). I probably traumatised it slightly by picking it up and moving it onto a rock to have its picture taken. Nothing would induce it to put its head out while I was within 6 feet of it.

I found a snake too, sunning itself on the rocks, but the turtle wins!
