Oops, todays post got deleted by mistake using my phone instead of my laptop to edit. There was a picture of a dark and blustery Dores beach and I thank everyone to commented. In its place I am posting another stop on the geocaching driving tour of Loch Ness. This is one of the best examples of a hump-backed single span bridge. It was part of General Wade’s military road from Inverness to Fort Augustus being one of the military roads constructed in the Scottish Highlands during the middle part of the 18th century as part of an attempt by the British Government to bring order to a part of the country which had risen up in the Jacobite rebellion of 1715. The top of the bridge is in  the extra photo. Picture in your mind British soldiers in red jackets wth rifles trying to curb angry Scots in kilts!!!
