Today's the day ......................... for a warning

It's a sobering thought that our New Zealand friends have started to blip the first daffodils and other signs of their awakening spring.

The fact is that I, for one, am not ready to meekly roll over and accept that soon for us the leaves will be turning and we'll enter the 'mists and mellow fruitfulness' stage.  I don't feel that we've had anything remotely like a summer as yet.  And if August goes by without a serious spell of hot sunny weather - when you can put your shorts on as a matter of course - then I am going to feel deeply bereft.

The best I could do today was to rush out in a brief interlude of sunshine before the rain started and take a picture of this fiery Crocosmia.........................
