Welsh dragon
This morning I went to Chirk Castle woodlands with the bird watching group. We didn't see many birds as the canopy does a good job of hiding them at this time of year but we enjoyed the walk.
In the woodlands is a 700 year old sweet chestnut tree. Any fallen branches are left where they land which means that it's surrounded by rotten branches of various shapes and sizes. This one reminded me of a dragon, it's just over the border so is a Welsh dragon. The tree and it's branches must be a haven for wildlife too
