Tuesday night at the races

The Lummi and Nooksack tribes (I prefer the Canadian designation "First Nations") have strong paddling heritages. Their canoes continue the lines of traditional dugouts --although actual log dugouts were phased out years ago in favor of beautifully crafted cedar-planked copies.
