Contrasts...

Today has been the penultimate day of Dig The City. This project has been a year in the planning, months of growing and cherishing plants, a week of the hardest work I've ever done to pull it off. I've met celebrity gardeners and have become a media slut talking to anyone who pushes a microphone in front of me. Being awarded a Silver Gilt medal was the icing on the cake. I've had a week of having my ego stroked by the Manchester public and visitors to the city. And I'm sad it's going to be over tomorrow.

Today's blip is from beside my garden. I'm a great fan of architectural contrasts. I love Bath but find all it's Georgian perfection ever so slightly dull. Manchester, with its eclectic mix of architecture, is much more to my taste.

Here we have pretty St. Ann's Church contrasting wonderfully with the Hilton Tower on the end of Deansgate and more then holding it's own. I'd always assumed that St. Ann's was Georgian but it's actually older, being Stuart.
