Skull and crossbones
Had lunch in the local pub with mum and dad today which was very nice, so we had to walk through the churchyard of St Mary's Church and decided to blip this grave. We were always told that if you saw this skull and crossbones on a grave it was to represent a pirate buried there or the victim was from the plague, and as the area was well known for smuggling and pirates - there are still rumoured to be tunnels from one of the pubs to the local creek - we always believed this to be pirates graves but more recent information says this is a myth and it was just a motto used to represent death. Think I like the pirates story myself!!
