Ireland vs Spain

We live in hope.

It was only 1-0 to Spain at half time, so I headed up to the Sports Bar to see the second half, knowing that there would be supporters from both sides with whom I could enjoy a really tight and entertaining second half.

But Ireland got beat 4-0.

Last time we lost a game there (when Thierry Henry handballed Ireland out of qualification for the 2010 World Cup) I got carried in my Ireland shirt across this part of the square by Tunisian fans who had themselves qualified for the World Cup that night.

Not tonight. Tonight it just rained.
