Is there no privacy?!

On the way to the craft shop committee meeting this evening I had the joy of watching this calf being born. Good job I'd set off early! There are several more gory shots of the birth in progress, but there was another cow in attendance, there quite often is, and she was blocking the view somewhat!

This is a field of cows, all giving birth just now, out at grass, with very minimal intervention. On the way home, two hours later (yes, far too long a meeting!), a little black cow who had obviously been under way when I'd driven past the first time, was nuzzling a tiny black calf too.

As you can see from her expression, the mother was sick of me taking pictures of her at this point, so I left them to it!
