Breakfast
It took 45 mins to get this made and sit down here! I'm learning that you can't use crutches and carry things at the same time or use your hands for anything apart from clutching onto the crutches. The chair I've got my feet on has wheels and so I use that in the kitchen to rest my plastered leg on, put the crutches down so I can use my hands, lean my body against the side of the kitchen units and then wheel myself back and forward to the fridge for milk, to the toaster etc and turn around to put it all on the table. It's still hard work as I'm standing on one leg, but it works! I had just sat town to enjoy my coffee and toast here when the landline rang, which was on the other side of the room. I had to let it ring!
I couldn't get out of the air bed this morning as it had deflated a bit during the night and the bed had been moved to make room for a bedside lamp. I'd forgotten though that the bed had to be close enough to the desk so that I could pull myself up as the air bed isn't firm enough. 30 mins later I was on my feet (foot actually!), but I'm not sure how I did it. Another lesson learned!
Friends amazing again. Mila was here most of the day, made lunch, was on hand when I had a sit down shower using a waterproof Velcro fastening cover for the plaster and was with me when I injected my stomach (to avoid thrombosis) - one injection a day. For once I was grateful at being able to grab some stomach fat!
