Times Of My Life

Stolen Summer

Someone's stolen Summer,
It really is a bummer,
They nabbed the sun,
And left us with the rain.
The farmers are disgusted,
School holidays are busted,
The sky is grey
And overcast again.
It's gone from Spring to Autumn,
The top is at the bottom,
The lack of heat is causing lots of pain.
So, whoever stole the Summer,
And made me glum, then glummer,
Wise-up, you thief!
And give it back again.

This time last year the Buddleia was covered in butterflies, and the sky was blue and clear.  Today, I went to work wearing my new winter jacket! And it is so windy that the grandchildren's wee trampoline has blown right down the garden, as have various pots and tubs.

It's probably best if we never have a decent summer in Scotland, 'cos it just raises our expectations too high for following years!
