Pilates

Another fab day at the movement and dance festival. It was organised by my friend through her arts company and has classes by Bare Toed theatre group, Susie Tate, Seven Stories and Circus Skills group from Newcastle. All the sessions were just £1 each. Here are Ophelia and her friend enjoying some Pilates-type stretches in one of their workshops today. Very clever session incorporating poses from that and yoga in ways that a child can grasp. They also did a dance session today and Arwen did a baby and toddler movement session. There were adult activities too: I did an intense Iyengar yoga hour and a half last night and tonight went back for more - completely different poses though the same teacher and only three of us in tonight's class so it was tailored to us very well. Forgot how much I loved formal classes - I haven't been to any since before I had the girls, even though I practice a bit at home still. Immediately afterwards, for good measure, I did the Pilates class. I now feel about three inches taller than I did yesterday morning!
