The hoist is still over the door

I think it's lovely that the old hoist which was used to haul goods upstairs has been retained over the front door to my flat. I can just imagine crates of guns and ammunition being hoisted up...

I wondered why most of the shops were closed this morning, then discovered that it's a Bank Holiday. Maybe they never changed from the beginning to end of August when everyone else did. Or maybe it's an extra? I'll find out at the end of the month I guess.

I'm sorry that all I've been posting lately is around and about my flat. I've simply been busy and haven't had time for anything better. Hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly...
