Gently down the stream

Gardens in August

I don't know about yours, but I feel my garden has rather fewer flowers than usual at this time in the summer, mainly because we've had so little rain.  I keep remembering plants that this year have disappeared.  So this is a very small collection from my garden in a very small red tin watering can that my mum had for years perched on top of her spice rack.  I don't know why.  It wasn't a very 'her' thing to do, but I kept it when she died and treasure it.

However, that wasn't the point of this blip, it was to take a look at the wonderful colours later summer flowers are.  So different from those of May and June, which in the UK all seem to be in the much softer white/pink/blue spectrum.  Besides, it was too hot for long walks today or activity of any sort at all.

Okay, that's me for now.  Hope your weekend's been fab and that a good week beckons you  xx
