Skirmishes in Skipton!

There was a little English Civil War going on in the grounds of Skipton Castle today - love the passion, outfits, detail, knowledge and obsession of these encampments and skirmishes.
Not all fighting and gun firing though.. I watched the cook serve up poached pears in a red wine sauce flavoured with nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves.. all cooked over a steaming open stove... and I had a long chat with the 17th Century surgeon there (seen here in Majoayee's blip) - ooo horrible history!  :)
