Pens not Park . . .

. . . but still lots of Pots.

We missed Pots in the Park this year because we were away last weekend, so I haven't been able to see the lovely French lady who makes the plates that I really like and have been collecting.

However, we went up to Penrith this morning and wandered around Pots in the Pens. I bought some coffee cups and this is a picture taken from the German Potter's stand, where I bought them, through to other displays. If you have never been to Pots in the Pens, I should explain that it takes place in the Auction Mart and each potter is allocated a stall to make their displays. The range of work is astonishing, as is the distance potters travel to get here, and the whole event attracts a lot of people over the weekend.

There are a few other activities taking place and opportunities for children and adults to have a go at making their own pots and models. In one corner was a couple from Cockermouth demonstrating some amazing 3D printing. Between them, they have put together a computer generated clay printer that uses their own designs to make some beautiful pieces. People were mesmerised watching this vase being created. And here is a picture taken a bit later showing the vase taking shape.

And the Ragtime Rascals were there too!!
