That Will Do!

Olympic Torch

Determined to see something of the Olympic torch relay we positioned ourselves near the Gowkley Moss roundabout, as the Edinburgh Evening News map indicated that this was right on the route.

We watched the several police motobikes; we watched various sponsor lorries; we watched the Official Olympic vehicles, we waved merrily to most of them and they waved back. But, though we waited and waited, it seemed that we waited in vain as no-one ran past with a big grin and flaming torch held proudly aloft.

Nothing daunted, we drove down to Penicuik and joined a jolly throng - obviously Something Was Expected Quite Soon. So we watched the several police motobikes; we watched various sponsor lorries; we watched the Official Olympic vehicles, we waved merrily to most of them and they waved back. And then this lady ran past with a big grin and flaming torch held proudly aloft.

Job done!

I have now completed my backblipping of the Shetland Trip and up to date, beginning here. I'll try to resume comments but we'll be away again from next Tuesday.
