From the Ferry

Sitting on the deck of our cottage-for-the-week looking out at blue blue Lake Michigan and feeling the sun's warmth it certainly was difficult to pack up and leave.

There are 2 ferries for the island and they primarily use the larger/nicer one called the 'Emerald Isle'.  When there are more trips in the busy season they also use the smaller ferry called the 'Beaver Islander'.  Today we were on the Beaver Islander and today's photo is of the Emerald Isle as it passed us.

Strong winds and waves caused us to rock and roll on the ferry today.  Walking to the top deck my husband's hat blew off his head and landed on the roof!  One of the ferry crew offered to retrieve it for him once we were docked "if it made it".  Once docked we went over to see if my husband's hat made the trip and it did AND it was joined by another passenger's hat!  Both hats were retrieved and given to their rightful owners.
