Through the lens

The Kirkwall lifeboat visited Sanday today and tied up in Kettletoft for visitors. She's a very tidy boat and the crew were friendly and informative. Sanday's Lifeboat Ladies put on a good spread, including some delicious Clootie Dumpling (which may or may not have put in an appearance on the show bench yesterday!)

I hope very much that the boat is not needed today while the Sanday Soulka fishing competition is under way.

There will be dancing in the streets tonight, quite literally - except it is just the one street. There will be a mass Strip The Willow after the fishing weigh-in, barbecue,  and homebrew tasting and before the live music gig at the Kettletoft Hotel.

It's all go round here. Who says that we live the quiet life?

Extra pics: more from the RNLB Margaret Foster (I like the helmets one)
