a lack of focus

A fresh look

Two trees are down to stumps and the space looks completely different. They have been treated with eco plugs to prevent regrowth.

This is a cherry laurel which sounds lovely but my feelings about it are more in line with this excerpt from an article:

"Although it will make a clipped hedge readily enough, these are big, tough, rather aggressive plants. I inherited a hugely overgrown laurel hedge once with a house I had bought and quickly cut it hard to the ground because it was swamping a border.
Within 12 months it had grown back to a height of 3ft. If left uncut, laurel will create a jungle of twining, crossing branches that block out everything else"

"Every part of the plant is poisonous, too, and the water that drips off its leaves poisons plants that might otherwise survive in its shade. It is not a plant to use lightly."
