Jodrell Bank
The Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank entertained us by turning round and tipping during our visit. It was a spectacular sight against an almost clear blue sky until just before we left to go home when the clouds rolled in.
There is a shot of the whole telescope in Extra photos. The entire structure rotates on a circular track. At one point the dish was horizonal pointing straight upwards into space where it searches for signs of life in other galaxies.
