Wairau River Mouth - marshes

These 'marshes' aren't visibly connected to the Wairau River itself, but I guess there'd be an underground connection. The colours were glorious when the sun came out from behind the clouds, over the ranges behind us.

There were many fisherfolk down by the river mouth. A delightful young girl came up and offered us one of her kahawai!   So kind  :)  I've put her photo into Extras. What a super day!!
