Blue moon

Well I don't really think this is what they meant when they said we were having a blue moon.
A blue moon is the second moon in a calendar month, july's first was on the 2nd and another tonight 31st. They occur 7 times every 19 years because the lunar month is shorter than the familiar calendrical months.
Simple but wrong, it has several different meanings.
Sometimes the moon does appear blue, this is when forest fires and volcanic eruptions can boast ash high into the atmosphere.
