Morteratsch: death of Aratsch
I cannot believe that we have never walked up this stunning valley in the past year since living in the Engadine. The posts show the place and mark the year (mostly every 5 years) of the glacier's reach. They also tell many interesting facts about the history of the Pontresina and the vicinity. It is so sad to note the extent of decline of these glaciers and so interesting to read about the lifestyles of the people and tourists who have been influenced by this area.
Piper joined me for the tourist walk whilst M and our friends played about on rock crags. After lunch she joined me for siesta time (see extra photo).
