I spoke to my brother-in-law who lives in Barcelona yesterday, and he was adamant: there are hardly any Spanish flags on the cars, hanging from windows, tied to chimneys, splashed on footpaths, wrapped around rear mirrors, painted on toddlers' faces or adorning proud overweight adult chests.

When asked who he'd be supporting, he said that he was going native, against his country of adoption.
