I've got my Dragon!

There is a back story to this.

Primarily, I bought this dragon on ebay for a photo project, but quite independently, I saw something funny about dragons a couple of days ago that I posted on Facebook:

Me: I want a dragon
Santa: Be realistic
Me: OK then, I want a loyal boyfriend
Santa: What colour dragon you want?

Having been in severe pain since Sunday with my right hand thumb, I decided to go to the Walk In Centre this afternoon to find out if it was just sprained or fractured. On Sunday, I'd put the pain down to arthritis, particularly with all that wet weather, but my left hand and the rest of my right hand had improved. Not my right hand thumb though.

The nurse tested it, making me wince when she pressured the joint, and then sent me for X-ray.

No fracture, but the X-ray revealed extensive arthritis. The nurse couldn't believe that I hadn't been taking pain relief.

I explained how my doctor hadn't taken the condition seriously. So the nurse procured a prescription from the doctor on duty for powerful pain killers and inflammatory tablets and insisted I ask my GP for referral to a specialist.

The same recommendation that I received 10 years ago when my then GP said, 'these hospital consultants don't know anything.' And refused to refer me to a rheumatologist.

I shall be more assertive now.
