Weighing up...

Today was a day for client site visits with new PR client The Jockey Club. Stunning dual aspect views of the London skyline and the Sussex Downs at Epsom Racecourse made for a breathtaking vision to start the day.

As we toured function rooms, conference suites and took a sneaky peek into the Royal Box I was impressed by the beautiful paintings of famous racehorses and jockeys from yesteryear adorning the walls.

The stark contrast of the modern meeting rooms and facilities for 2015 compared to the history and heritage of The Jockey Club founded in 1750 was told through every painting I laid my eyes upon. It simply added to the appeal and enthusiasm for promoting this venue along with the other 14 across the UK.

The afternoon was by no means any less impressive with a tour of the historic Sandown Park racecourse and the delight of a panoramic backdrop of Surrey and London beyond greeted us as we arrived. This combined with the hustle and bustle of the production teams rigging the stage for a Boyzone performance for the evening's racing made for an interesting tour.

We viewed the Jockey weighing room which, to me, felt like a step back in time. I pondered on the long journey home (operation stack again) at just how lucky I am to be working on such interesting projects with great clients and exciting projects ahead.

Busy work days and long commutes sometimes distract from the fact that when I weigh it all up...I have a pretty cool job really. Even if I am a bit frazzled at the moment!
