Ireland's got talent
Struck it lucky today. Needed to go out to Sherkin Island library and the day was gorgeous. Baltimore where the Sherkin and Cape Clear ferries leave from was alive with day trippers, holiday makers, dogs and boats of all shapes and sizes. Not having much time to grab a bite to eat this morning I was about to eat a banana as I dashed for the ferry and half it dropped under a car. Gave a nano second's thought to diving after it, but hadn't time.
The sea was like glass and over there the sun was warm, bees buzzing, gulls wheeling, lovely. The place was also buzzing, all sorts of accents to be heard, others from the ferry at a serious meeting in the office nearby, their deliberations competing with a singing workshop making sweet sounds from the hall next door. Hard to get at the library even as you had to negotiate between a golf buggy and a JCB. Then back to the pier where a new deluge of holiday makers was arriving. All go.
