Abstract Thursday: Atmosphere?

For this final(?) abstract Thursday, I thought I'd play around with food colourings.

I tried dripping them into glasses of water. Got rubbish results. Then adding them to a shallow saucer of water. Just as bad.

I was taking the saucer away to pour it out in disgust when I noticed the movement of carrying it was moving the colours around in quite a pretty way. So I quickly took it back to the table and took a few shots. Results were slightly less rubbish, and seeing this is (possibly) the grand finale of AT I went to town on the processing - basically, keeping going until it got to a state that appealed to me.

I liked this because it had the look of alien planet's atmosphere, seen from space. Well - that's how it looked to me!!
