Balerma
Staycation Day 1
We started out at the beach this morning as the sea was very calm and inviting. Had a couple of hours before the searing heat took over and called at one of the beachside bars for a coffee.
After lunch we took a ride down to Balerma where they have opened up a new Camping Site. There used to be a very busy one in Almerimar some years ago but it was closed and the land sold. The site, of course, is nice and neat and clean.
We then called into Balerma and had a stroll on the Prom and called for a caña and tapa. The blip is of the Prom showing the Tower. Extra photo is of a statue presented to the Town from El Ejido for the men and women of Balerma.
In the evening we went out to eat at an Indian
Restaurant recently opened for the summer. It is the same people who had it last year for three months. As the guy was Pakistani, and they love their Cricket, Al was talking to him and he comes originally from Manchester, but their main restaurant is in Vera Playa, just above Mojaca. It turns out that he plays Cricket there and they come down to Almeria to play their Cricket team! You can see where this is going to end, we shall be off to see Almeria play when it cools down a bit!
We had a very good meal and enjoyed the end of day 1.
