Resident Bee Patrol
I fit in some needed gardening late this afternoon & put the dogs' e-collars on. Bailey should know the deal, as he wore his before (until my husband clipped the line with a trimmer). Ella could care less about anything beyond the gardens & her bees. She is completely obsessed, just parading from one patch to another on the same self-created paw path. She bites at the bees, then digs them up from the ground, shaking her head ...& I believe, as gross as it is, she might be eating them. When a lady (even without a dog) walked by our house, Bailey ran up the driveway & crossed through the line to follow her down the road. What a bad role model!! Hannah went to retrieve him & chased him back through the line! Tough little guy. His collar is set at level 3, perhaps needing to be pushed up to a 4. The beeping is enough to freak Ella out (not that she gets near those borders on her rounds--not at this point, anyhow). She is only in a learner's level 2. They are both happier & safer being on their own outside.
