A slice of Lesley's life

A world away

You know when you use an early morning photo for your blip and it feels another lifetime ago that you took it.

Well this was the beautiful setting for my early (in Spanish terms) morning walk with Albi. It's great as there aren't many places around here we can let her off to have a good run around. I'm not entirely sure how wise it is here but we are relying on the basis that she actually quite likes living with us and ultimately would never run off too far. (The Recall Project is still a work in progress and very unreliable when there are more interesting things on offer.). Anyway, this park was opened a few years ago when the local council developed some waste land around one of the sections of this aquaduct just before it gets to the town and is pretty much enclosed and safe for some running around. As well as being challenging enough to give her a really good run. She did, of course, manage to find the one part that wasn't fully fenced in but she did prove our theory by coming back to where we were pretty quickly.

Following the earlyish start we headed to the beach for the morning. Found ourselves a lovely spot, declared it a splendid place that we should bring our various visitors to and then Anna promptly got stung by a jellyfish, causing us to finally learn the word for them - medusa in case you ever need to know. Very painful and a little scary for her but, perhaps not surprisingly and somehow reassuringly (they know what they're doing) and yet not reassuringly (they must see a lot of these), the local farmacia had her sorted in no time at all (and with some bonus strokes of her head - not sure they get many gingers).

Home for lunch and lots of lying around in the shade / air-conditioned rooms. And for me the doing of some particularly random jobs including sorting the cutlery drawer and disposing out of date medicines from the medical box. Being the temporary (and slightly inadequate but we are glossing over that as Carlos doesn't want to know the extent of my incompetence) pool girl. And some laundry.

A fun pool session in which we enticed Albi to swim a little more and she nearly injured herself upending a sunbed she decided to walk the length of.

Then the troupes headed into town for dinner on the beach so I could have some peace and all the internet our little rural retreat can muster for my webinar. There was peace once I had safely ensconced myself and the mutt indoors away from all the creatures of the valley goading her to bark and howl and generally be a disruptive force.

Finally the evening has ended with a long cool drink and some relaxing on the terrace.

I'm happy the webinar is behind me for many reasons, and not least as it frees me up to buy a new fridge tomorrow. Which may make it to blip unless another blipper's Challenge Amazon gameshow comes good.
