Improvisational

He'd planned to trace the logo directly onto the glass of a picture frame. But when he discovered he'd done it on the protective plastic cover instead, he realised that would make a nifty window-sticker for his bedroom. 

Or as he put it, "it's one of those life gives you lemonade things. Or something."
